B+W XS-Pro filters use a newly developed mounting ring, particularly suitable for wide-angle SLRs and zoom lenses. The extremely slim design prevents the mounting ring from threading even in the most violent impacts.
B+W XS-Pro digital filters have front threads for mounting additional accessories such as filters, screw-on shades, and lens caps. The XS-Pro filter ring is made of brass and is matte black to prevent reflections.

Multi-Resistant Coating (MRC) with Nano Technology. This refers to the unique multi-resistant coating developed by Schneider-Kreuznach, which is available as standard on B+W XS-Pro digital filters.
The nano-coating is a protective outer layer that comes standard with all XS-Pro digital MRC filters. The nanotechnology-based feature (lotus effect) produces a better beading effect with water, making cleaning this filter even easier and faster than ever.

MRC nano has an improved outer layer (8th) on top of regular MRCs.
B+W's MRC nano-coating takes filter production to a new level. It has improved cleaning capabilities. Water droplets will fade better and be easier to remove from the filter. This filter is also scratch-resistant. A single coating is applied to each glass surface. This improves light transmission from approximately 92% (uncoated glass) to approximately 98%. It also has certain anti-reflective properties that help prevent ghosting and internal chipping.
